MultiGP Series Week #13 Recap

Just past the mid-way point of the qualifying season, we look back on the 13th week of competition in 2019, with 4 Chapters hosting Global Qualifiers for the 2019 MultiGP Championships.

While just under 50 pilots competed last weekend, 34 of them flew the Global Qualifier Track, officially for the first time.

In Mobile, Alabama Delta 5 FPV were able to host their previously re-scheduled qualifier, with two of their pilots, Clark “WHODATFPV” Drago and Trey “Soy” Pfeiffer breaking the top-100 to be in the top half of the Pro Class so far, posting 55.245 for 97th and 51.9 for 72nd, respectively, during their first official runs on the track.

In Sanford, North Carolina Raleigh Rotor Racers hosted their qualifier at Devil’s Ridge Motocross Facility. RRR became the first Tier 1 or Tier 2 chapter to host their second qualifier that those tiers are eligible for. Almost 3/4’s of their pilots either climbed up or into the top-200 Pro Class Rankings, including the spectacular showings by Gregory “CharlotteAerial” Hurst and Rafael “RBFPV” Balderas. They each posted 48-seconds as their Fastest 3-consecutive laps score, moving CharlotteAerial up from 52nd to 44th Globally, while RBFPV sits right behind him in 45th, with it being RBFPV’s first Global Qualifier of 2019.

The biggest race for attendance was in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada with the Ottawa FPV Riders Chapter hosting their first qualifier of two at the Stetson Flyers Heli Fun Fly. Liam “LOLDERS” Olders posted a 49.9 at his first qualifier in 2019 to be seated 55th, meanwhile Derek “Platinum” Clee
remains in the top-25 after he posted a 45.5 Fastest-3 Consecutive Laps (15.7, 15.3, 14.4 on laps 3, 4 and 5 of a 5-lap 92-second run.

And lastly, for the week 13 recap, the biggest move into the Global Qualifier Rankings happened in Sandia Park, New Mexico with the Southwest Pod Racers. 3 Pilots broke the top-200 for Pro-Class, including Teng “JuneBug” Ma with a 62.39 second run to start her season in 144th, Philip “Sub” Arndt

This coming weekend there is solely one qualifier on the schedule as Cincinnati Quad Racers prepare for their first qualifier, hosted at Hawks RC Field in Hamilton, Ohio, and of course the weekend after, 300+ Pilots will have their chance to get 10 official packs in at the 2019 MultiGP International Open presented by Team Blacksheep (more info: http://MultiGP.io)
